2022 Senate Tryouts Recap

by Senate Media Team

2022 Senate Tryouts was a massive success

On November 13, 2021 and December 19, 2021 the Senate Football Program had over 75+ former high school, college, and professional football athletes report to Zions Bank Training Center to tryout for a spot on the 2022 roster. There was an impressive display of football intelligence, speed, power, and all around skill. The first round of tryouts was such a huge triumph that it prompted the Senate front office to host a second round of tryouts, which didn't disappoint as well.

When Head Coach Uppsen Downes was asked about the tryouts, he remarked "I am pleased to see it was executed smoothly and I have never been more excited for football". The Senate staff hosted various combine drills and truly put on a show for the spectators that were in attendance. The Senate also partnered with Optimal Therapeutics, a local health company that specializes in custom tailored massage sessions and corrective exercises to keep the body moving. Optimal Therapeautics provided care and custom stretches to the athletes that participated to ensure that each athlete had a chance to perform at the highest levels.

Coach Downes will announce in the upcoming weeks the full list of athletes that will be invited to the Senate training camp before the season officially starts. Athletes that get invited back can expect a comprehensive set of drills, rigorous expectations for success, and a slate of spring games to identify areas of optimization for the 2022 Senate Team.
