Senate Football Welcomes Tiana Barron as Athletic Trainer

Tiana was born and raised in a small farming community in Patterson, California. Tiana comes from a loving and supporting family, and she is the youngest of four children. Her family and has always shared a passion for playing sports, so Tiana grew up in a household that fostered competitiveness and physicality.

Although she enjoyed her extensive involvement in sports, that involvement had its downside: constant injuries. Since Tiana constantly sustained injuries, that meant she had to find ways to recover in order to keep playing. In high school, Tiana never had the opportunity to have an official athletic trainer to help her recover from her injuries. For her, her athletic trainer was her Dad. He put her through rehab, took care of her acute injuries, and did everything he could to help her get better and heal from injuries. With the information Tiana learned about injury treatment and care from her dad, she then used to take care of herself and her teammates.

After graduating high school, Tiana attended Humboldt State University in California to pursue her career in and passion for sports and physical activity. In all of her four years of undergrad, Tiana participated in the women’s rugby club.  This participation grew her love for rugby. Tiana then graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science and Health Promotion.

After graduation, Tiana moved to the island of Oahu in Hawai’i to attend the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and pursue her Masters of Science in Athletic Training. At UH, Tiana had the opportunity to work with UH Football, Baseball, and Women’s Volleyball. After graduation, Tiana took the Board of Certification exam and received her Athletic Training Certification.

After moving back to the mainland, post-graduation, Tiana and her boyfriend decided to start a new life here in Utah.

Tiana is a big family person, and she credits all of her success to her loving and supportive family.

In her free time, Tiana enjoys creative artistic outlets such as drawing, continuing to play sports, learning how to play new sports, enjoying the beautiful views of our earth that were provided to us by Him, reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and loving boyfriend.

Tiana hopes to spread enthusiasm and optimism to the team and help them have a successful season!
